The 4th edition of the national educational movement “Blue Planet Counts on You!” PACT, developed and implemented by the PRAIS Foundation in partnership with Nestlé Romania, has reached a record number of registrations this year, involving 363 primary schools from 33 counties and 209 urban and rural localities in the country.
Through simple gestures made every day, at home, at school, and in the community, the PACT national movement aims to form a strong and responsible community of school-aged children who learn and participate with motivation in activities designed to contribute to the protection and conservation of the planet’s natural resources. The program’s motto is: “Care for nature is cultivated from childhood!”.
“Promoting and supporting biodiversity, recycling, and a neutral impact on the environment are an integral part of our global mission. This year, we added a new chapter dear to us to the PACT national movement, the Honey Forest, through which we support the planting of melliferous tree species and the protection of bees. We are convinced that only together can we change the environment and the communities in which we live for the better,” declared Irina Siminenco, Corporate Affairs Manager, Nestlé Romania.
In this PACT edition, thousands of primary school students participated in activities that stimulated their imagination and measurably contributed to the formation of solid habits related to the selective collection of recyclable waste, saving the planet’s natural resources, planting and caring for flowers, shrubs, and trees! The drawings, collages, and dioramas of the planet’s ecosystems, the real gardens created at home and at school, demonstrated the children’s desire to take care of the planet.
“Our innovative non-formal education methodologies, solid alliances – school, students, family – are the basis of the results obtained. Therefore, we express our gratitude to our partners, to the over 3,000 teachers who voluntarily joined our efforts to cultivate a young PACT generation, responsible towards the environment!”, said Silvia Bucur, President of the PRAIS Foundation.
Annually, primary schools from all over the country can register online to participate in the multiple creative and practical activities within the national movement by contacting the PRAIS Foundation.
