The PRAIS Foundation, in partnership with Nestlé for Healthier Kids, marks a record level of primary school enrollments in the three national multidisciplinary educational programs it has been developing for over a decade in our country, at the end of this school year.
Thus, teachers from the 443 enrolled schools, located in 244 urban and rural communities across 35 counties and Bucharest, were able to implement “learning by doing” activities within the national movements “I Live Healthy Too!” (SETS) and “Blue Planet Counts on You!” (PACT) or the “Pet School” program. Teachers conducted over 3,300 hours/thematic lessons in classrooms based on e-books and short YouTube films. They also engaged students in 77,200 specific activities for the chosen programs. From 2011 until today, over 600,000 students aged between 6 and 12 have been part of these communities.
“The exceptional results achieved by these three major educational programs are an expression of our commitment to developing sustainable environmental behaviors and directly contributing to shaping a balanced lifestyle and well-being among the younger generation and the entire family! We will continue this collective effort in the coming years,” stated Irina Siminenco, Corporate Affairs Manager, Nestlé Romania.
For 14 years, the national movement “I Live Healthy Too!” (SETS) has contributed to forming healthy lifestyle habits among tens of thousands of students aged between 6 and 12 and to preventing childhood obesity.
Now in its 4th edition, the educational program “Blue Planet Counts on You!” (PACT) quickly became a national movement for environmental protection, with the message: “Care for nature is cultivated from childhood!”
The national project Pet School, supported by Purina Romania, has been successfully running for six years, focusing on educating children about the responsible and affectionate care of pets – cats and dogs. Its motto, “People, dogs and cats, better together!”, inspires students year after year.
“The successes of our educational programs are reflected by the large communities created around them! The development of innovative non-formal education methodologies, 100% digitalization of materials, and multidisciplinary activities are just a few highlights. Partners, teachers, students, and their families have been and will remain the engine of the results we achieved this year!” declared Silvia Bucur, President of the PRAIS Foundation.
Impact studies on these projects show that over 90% of the teachers who responded to questionnaires stated that students’ parents greatly appreciated the usefulness of these national educational programs, which is why they were directly involved in their activities.
