Over 300 primary schools from 30 counties and Bucharest have voluntarily registered for this school year in the 3 national, multidisciplinary educational programs, which are holistically approached, initiated and developed by the PRAIS Foundation in partnership with Nestlé Romania.
Within the national movements “I Live Healthy Too!” (SETS), “The Blue Planet Counts on You!” (PACT), and the national program “Pet School” – supported by Purina, teachers, students aged 6 to 12, and their families can access free knowledge on the projects’ digital and social media platforms, as well as multidisciplinary activities that form balanced and responsible lifestyle habits and contribute to the well-being of children.
Accessing this type of information and “learning by doing” activities from childhood contributes to the educational prevention of obesity, which, in our country, affects 12% of 7-year-old children and 15% of 8-year-old children, while nearly 7% are underweight*.
The prevalence of obesity in children aged 6 to 9 years has increased in Romania in the last 5 years. Only half of them consume fruits and/or vegetables daily (fruits 50%, vegetables 46.4%), and of these, only 3.2% consume 5 servings of vegetables or fruits per day (as recommended), while 15.6% consume 3 servings/day**.
“We are actively involved in our national educational programs and this year we are offering schools access to information and multiple activities for children and their families! It remains a priority for us to form and maintain healthy lifestyle habits based on balanced nutrition, physical activity, and sport, which can prevent childhood obesity. We are harmoniously integrating care for the environment, the conservation of the planet’s resources, and responsible behavior towards pets into the process of forming and raising the responsibility of the young generation!”, stated Nicoleta Tupiță, NHW and Internal Communication Manager, Nestlé Romania.

To date, over 650,000 students aged 6 to 12 have had access to these extracurricular programs, forming large active communities of students, teachers, and families around them.
“Thousands of students nationwide prepare daily the ‹‹SETS Happy and Healthy Food Pack for school››, the ‹‹NutriPortion Plate››, which includes vegetables and fruits, and get lots of exercise in the ‹‹SETS Movement and Fun Clubs!››. Within the PACT program, they plant, create costumes from recycled materials, take care of green spaces, and save the planet’s resources! And in the Pet School program, they learn to care for pets with responsibility and affection. These are just a few of the activities much loved by children. Year after year, our programs remain the choice of teachers and schools, to whom we extend our thanks!”, stated Silvia Bucur, President of the PRAIS Foundation.
