UN International Sport Day

About

The UN International Day of Sports for Development and Peace project, implemented for the first time on April 6, 2023, consisted of a sports show, organized by the National Children’s Palace in Bucharest – PNCB, at the Great Hall of PNCB, in partnership with PRAIS Foundation and Nestlé Romania.

Implementation

In an atmosphere of energy, over 500 talented children from the PNCB sports clubs offered the spectators demonstrations of standard and Latin sports dances, martial arts, aerobic gymnastics and a flashmob in which the entire hall participated.

The opening of the art exhibition “The Earth is our home!” was held in the foyer of the National Children’s Palace in Bucharest, to which more than 90 small artists contributed with impressive works.

“For 2 months, we prepared this unique show, together with the coordinators of the clubs of the National Children’s Palace in Bucharest and our partners, the PRAIS Foundation team and Nestlé Romania. It is impressive the mobilization and passion with which our talented children rehearsed and performed in front of hundreds of spectators who responded to our invitation”.

The event was held under the auspices of the national movement “Si eu Trăiesc Sanătos!” – SETS and the project “The Blue Planet Counts on You!” PACT created and developed by the PRAIS Foundation team together with Nestlé for Healthier Kids.

The slogan under which the sports show was held “We do sports! We score for people and the planet!” brings to public attention the recognition of the role that sport and physical activity play in communities and people’s lives around the world.

At the awards ceremony within the event, the PNCB management awarded the Personality of the Year 2023 Diploma to Mrs. Elisabeta Lipă, President of the Romanian Rowing Federation, multiple Olympic champion, along with 3 other diplomas awarded to partners.
