We are the moving generation!

„We are the moving generation!” is an extracurricular national project, initiated in 2014. For its 2 years of implementation, has been activating and informing high school students about the need for a balanced lifestyle and regular physical and sports activities for a general state of well-being, maintained for a long time.

Initiated by the PRAIS Foundation, “We are the moving generation!” – SGIM brought together 170 high schools from 14 cities and 2 communes: Bucharest, Ploiesti, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Brasov, Codlea, Fagaras, Predeal, Rasnov, Rupea , Sacele, Victoria, Zarnesti, Bran and Feldioara and Prejmer communes.

All students and teachers engaged received over 300,000 educational materials, free of charge: brochures, bookmarks, posters, information kits, etc.

During the two years of implementation, in the annual competitions, over 44,000 high school students and teachers signed up. The most active high schools were awarded in 59 special ceremonies with 3,039 participants. In total, the 172 PRAIS events gathered 11,910 high school students, teachers and partners.

On the online portal of the project, 1,426 physical and sports activities were uploaded by coordinating teachers, totaling 2,811 hours of physical activities and sport. The 33 workshops organized in high schools involved over 2,500 students, members of Student Councils, teachers, renown athletes from the Romanian Football Federation, the Romanian Fencing Federation, the Romanian Dance Sports Federation, UNEFS volunteer students and Physical Education and Mountain Sports University from Brasov. In the Gymclass contest, 1,163 high school students prepared 69 videos and 630 created 23 Flash mob videos. The community of the program was supported by the campaigns performed on the online platform, which totaled over 65,500 views.

The official Facebook page of the project brought together an audience of 1,245,758 people and gathered 14,328 likes. The YouTube channel, where the videos made by the students were uploaded, gathered over 100,000 views.

Impact study

The lifestyle habits of adolescents

The study was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Sociology of the National School of Political and Administrative Sciences, under the coordination of the department head Prof. Dr. Vintila Mihailescu.

The basis of this social marketing project were the results of the study ” The lifestyle habits of adolescents” conducted by the PRAIS Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Political and Administrative Sciences within SNSPA (National School of Political and Administrative Studies) Bucharest.

The partners of the project are: the School Inspectorates from Bucharest, Prahova, Brasov, Timis and Cluj, University of Physical Education and Sport Bucharest, Faculty of Physical Education and Mountain Sports Brasov, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Timisoara, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Cluj-Napoca, “Ioan Kunst Ghermanescu” Coach School, the Romanian Fencing Federation, the Romanian Football Federation, the Romanian Dance Sports Federation, the Romanian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.

The development of this educational project was possible thanks to the Grant awarded by the Coca-Cola Foundation to the PRAIS Foundation, following an international annual selection of projects.
