"The national movement “I’m living healthy, too!” – SETS The results of the new fast learning methodologies, at the end of its 11th edition"

The 11th edition of the national movement “I’m living healthy, too!” – SETS, initiated by the PRAIS Foundation in partnership with Nestlé Romania, finished with significant results after a complex school year, in which pupils studied mainly at home – online. The PRAIS Foundation team created a series of new methodologies, using SETS digital platforms, leading to a massive engagement of pupils in various activities that contributed to their well-being.

Thus, over 60,000 pupils from 296 primary schools in 5 major cities in Romania: Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Roman, Ploiesti, Timisoara and 19 communities in Cluj, Dambovita, Ilfov, Prahova, Neamt and Timis counties were able to access fast learning tools and educational video materials that directly promoted a balanced lifestyle.

,,During this time of restrictions, in which studying and socialization in school, play time, outdoor activities and sports were much reduced, while the time spent in front of a screen increased significantly, we offered teachers and families a variety of digital materials and daily activities that brought to their homes good lifestyle habits: energy, good cheer and relaxation” said Silvia Bucur, President of the PRAIS Foundation.

The SETS online conference “The well-being of school-age children, a priority!”, attended by over 1,300 guests, was followed by the launch in premiere of the E-book with the same title, its social media posts reaching to over 45,800 members of the project community: teachers, pupils’ families, the general public.

The activities of the SETS edition in the online school environment included:

  • SETS GymClass – refreshing gymnastics. Pupils did 1,622 gymnastics sessions at home or at school with their colleagues, showing how much they love daily physical exercise, when encouraged.
  • SETS – The Joyful Healthy Sandwich. It was the pupils’ favorite activity. They used their creativity and skills in the kitchen to make 5,327 culinary creations rich in vegetables and fruits, an excellent exercise for fixing knowledge about a balanced diet.
  • Stories from the world of our favourite fruits and vegetables. By drawing, pupils learned about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables, illustrating with talent and imagination over 1,000 original works.
  • 156 activities Dance with me! – FRUCT-ILA 2. The pupils danced on the SETS video with the mascot who taught them dance moves with a colorful rhythm.

From 2011 until now, the movement “I’m living healthy, too!” – SETS has engaged over 258,000 pupils, starting with the preparatory classes and up to the fourth grades, and their families. The SETS methodologies, recognized as a model of good international practice within EPODE, are also based on the public-private partnership, which includes 12 state institutions, medical and sports organizations, universities, under the guidance of the Scientific Council.
