The 12th edition of the national movement “I live healthy, too!” – SETS, initiated by the PRAIS Foundation, debuts together with the Partner or Founder, the company Nestlé Romania, in 6 cities: Bucharest, Buzau, Cluj-Napoca, Ploiesti, Roman, Timisoara, as well as in urban and rural communities in the counties of Arges, Buzau, Botosani, Cluj, Dambovita, Dolj, Ilfov, Prahova, Neamt, Timis and Vrancea.
Within the registered schools, primary school students will be able to have free access to the SETS quick learning tools and to all extracurricular educational materials made available to them in digital format, through which a balanced lifestyle is promoted. The practical and creative activities of SETS are programmed in such a way as to contribute measurably to health education and to the well-being of school-age children.
As every year, the success of SETS implementation is based on the involvement of teaching staff and members of students’ families. Thanks to the integrated digital platforms, the general public from the communities where the SETS movement is implemented can also have access to information.
“The impact study we carried out at the end of the last edition of SETS shows us that 99.3% of the respondents – teachers, consider that participating in the activities of the national movement helped the students to adopt balanced lifestyle habits. At the same time, 98.6% of the teachers who answered the questionnaire confirmed that the students’ parents also highly appreciated the usefulness of the project, which is why they directly supported the children’s involvement. These results give us confidence that the new edition of SETS, for which we have prepared new materials and methodologies for student activation, will be a success”, said Silvia Bucur, President of the PRAIS Foundation.
During the 12 years since the launch of the SETS movement, over 343,600 primary school students and their families were able to have free access to SETS educational information and activities, thanks to the voluntary involvement of 4,000 teaching staff from 357 schools in the country. Between January and June 2022 alone, a number of 1,400 open hours dedicated to SETS extracurricular activities were allocated by the teaching staff during 16 school weeks. A record number of 11,000 thematic drawings were made in the same period by the participating students.
“Balanced food, daily physical activities, sports, sleep, quality time spent with family, with friends are just some of the benchmarks we promote among students, in order to develop harmoniously. We support the SETS national movement for its contribution to the formation of a healthy lifestyle among many generations of children. This commitment is part of our global Nestlé for Healthier Kids initiative through which we hope that, together, we will succeed in making a difference for as many children as possible, who will be able to, later, knowing the cause, the best choices in their adult life”, declared Nicoleta Tupita, Nutritionist-Dietitian, Nutrition Health and Wellness Manager, Nestlé Romania.
Since 2019, the SETS movement has been part of the Nestlé for Healthier Kids global initiative, which aims, until 2030, to support 50 million children to lead a healthier life.
At the base of the SETS methodologies, recognized as a model of international good practice within EPODE, is the public-private partnership that includes state institutions, reputable medical and sports organizations, universities.
