In the run-up to International Children’s Day, on May 28, a special event dedicated to children, their families and teachers involved in the national educational projects developed by the PRAIS Foundation in partnership with Nestle Romania took place in Lumea Copiilor Park in sector 4, which successively implicated – over 11 years, over 360,000 students in:
- National Movement “I live healthy too!” – SETS;
- School initiative for environmental protection “The Blue Planet Counts on You!” PACT;
- The program dedicated to the responsible care of pets: Pet School.
“The event we organized symbolically launches an invitation to RECONNECT to support children’s well-being, healthy lifestyle, care for nature, their access to education and knowledge, valuing the potential and talent of the young generation”, Silvia Bucur, President of the PRAIS Foundation declared .
More than 250 participants were able to admire the Exhibition of Collages Thematic drawings made with talent by students involved in the 3 national projects developed by the PRAIS Foundation in partnership with Nestle Romania.
“The involvement of our company as a Founding Partner of these 3 national programs, around which real active communities have developed, is the expression of our long-term commitment to support children, families, teachers, to contribute together to raising a generation of healthy children, inspiring them to choose lifestyle habits beneficial to their development,” said Silvia Sticlea, Country Manager, Nestle Romania.
Those present actively participated in sports dance demonstrations, flashmobs, judo and practiced in the handball, basketball and sand volleyball workshops, supported by over 100 brand athletes of the Bucharest Municipal Sports Club – CSM and students from at UNEFS.
The running session took place with the participation of Gabriela Szabo – Olympic athlete and CSM Bucharest General Director, who declared: “Since childhood, practicing sports and physical activities play a special role in maintaining physical and mental health. Exercise is an effective means available to everyone to fight obesity and the diseases it causes. We are with the national SETS movement, in our mission to contribute through sport-specific means to education for physical and mental health, to increasing the quality of life and social inclusion, to the development of sports performance”.
In the Pet School recreational workshop, pet lovers could participate in games, draw and watch demonstrations with dogs from the K9 Police.
More than 2,000 informational materials on the topic of educational projects were disseminated to the public, and the children, together with their families, could discover together with the young athletes the health value of practicing daily physical activities and a favorite sport.
The public event organized by the PRAIS Foundation team had as partners: Nestle Romania, Purina, the City Hall of Sector 4, the Bucharest Municipal Sports Club – CSM, the National University of Physical Education and Sport – UNEFS.
